NGV Incentive Program
Commercial fleet owners are eligible to receive a $3,000 incentive toward the conversion of a light duty vehicle to natural gas. Certified conversion facilities have the capability to install approved technology on eligible cars, vans and pickup trucks. Factory-built natural gas vehicles also qualify for the $3,000 incentive program.
Natural gas vehicles provide an important means for fleet owners to incorporate more sustainable transportation choices into their operations. |
Vehicles that use natural gas produce 25% fewer greenhouse gas emissions than their conventional gasoline counterparts. They also contribute to cleaner air for our communities by decreasing NOx by more than 35%, SO2 by more than 45%, and PM by 20%.
With the difference in price between natural gas and gasoline ranging between 10% to 30% during 2005, natural gas vehicles can help fleet owners reduce fuel costs. In addition, fleet owners gain experience using a gaseous fuel which will assist their operations in the future transition to zero emission hydrogen fuel cell vehicles.
PLEASE NOTE that March 31st, 2006, marked the deadline for the most recent NGV incentive program. Continue to check this site regularly for updates on the status of incentive funding for light duty natural gas vehicles.
